2013 - Removal of nave choir stalls

Exeter Cathedral Choir - 2013

Nave choir stalls

View west across the movable nave choir stalls which were introduced in the early 1970s and paid for by the Freemasons. They were removed in 2013. They were bought by a local antiques/salvage operation, Fagins Antiques, based at Hele to the east of Exeter. They remained there, unsold, until Fagins closed in the spring of 2019.

The altar dias, also portable, was introduced much later, probably 1990s. It too was removed at about the same time as the choir stalls, it proving to be impractical and noisy when walked over.
