Holyshute House Lake, 1887-88There was a lake in the grounds of the house. Sadly it has now gone and is built over by post-war housing. Old maps show it to have been quite a sizeable lake (map right is Ordnance Survey 1887-88, with lake coloured in to indicate its position behind the house).

The fields shown beyond the lake are now passed through by the Honiton A30 bypass, opened in 1966.
