Commentary by Eric Dare:

10a - Langhorne, Priest Vicar/Headmaster ('Guv') with one of his children, I imagine. He had 6:

Eadward (one time Head of Dean Prior School in Cheltenham)

Eleanor (married when I was there - we got our usual half-crown)

Mary (artist)

Margaret (killed with two maids in the bombing)

Ruth

Janet who was 21 during my time there - we both were learning the organ at the same time. I was 'organ boy' and saw her often in the loft at services. She was frequently with 'nurse' Harper, Matron, in her room helping with sewing.

One of the daughters (Mary??) was a fine cricketer at county level.

In the background [of 10a] there are the steps leading up to the Singing School.

10a in fact probably does not show one of the children, as the youngest was born in 1919, so would have been far too old for a photograph of this period. Perhaps this child is a grandchild?
